What does a fire protection company do?
A fire protection company designs, installs and maintains the systems that detect and control fire in a building, such as fire alarms, suppression systems and fire pumps. Many also handle compliance work, including fire safety audits and Fire Certificate applications, plus servicing, training and equipment supply. DZNC covers all three areas: Fire Protection Systems, Fire Certificate & Compliance, and Maintenance, Training & Supplies.
What is the difference between a BOMBA submission and a Fire Certificate?
A BOMBA submission is the endorsement of architectural and M&E fire protection plans by the Fire and Rescue Department. A Fire Certificate is issued for the completed building after the fire protection systems have been installed and inspected. One building project can involve both.
What if an existing building has no updated fire protection plans?
Plans can be redrawn from a site survey so that the drawings match the systems actually installed. Calculations can be prepared at the same time where the submission requires them.
How often do fire protection systems need servicing?
The frequency depends on the type of system, the applicable Malaysian Standard and BOMBA requirements. Servicing is commonly scheduled monthly or periodically, and the schedule is set after the systems are checked on site.
What information is needed to request a quotation?
The building type and location, the requirement (new installation, upgrading, Fire Certificate, maintenance or training) and any existing plans or reports. Where needed, a site visit is arranged to confirm the scope. Details can be sent through the Contact Us page.
